WEST WALLSEND. West Wallsand and Woodpeckers' Soccer Clubs held a social and presentation of trophies In the West Wallsend School of Arts on Monday night. The musicians were Messrs. Cullen and Bowie, with Mr. T. Fuller as M.C. The hall presented a pleasant appearance, while on a table was what was claimed to be the record display of trophies ever won by one district in any season. The display consisted of six cups, namely, the Kerr, Ellie, Lyall, Richardson, Hunter, and Burns (six a side cup). The medals were the Kerr, "A" grade, 'State junior championship, and six a side competition. The presentations were made by Messrs. J. H. Bloomfield (president N.D.B.F.A.), L. B. Tamlyn, Gregory, J. M'Lure, H. Maunders, while the acknowledgments were made by R. Sneddon, C. Shields, W. Maunders, W. James, A. Longworth, and H. Maunders.

ENGLISH CRICKETERS AND "SOCCER."
At the last meeting of the South Australian British Football Association, at the Y.M.C.A., it was decided that a challenge issued by the Eng lish cricketers now visiting the Commonwealth to plav any team in Australia should be taken up. It is hoped that a match can be arranged, and that it will tie played the day before the cricket match against South Australia takes place.

In Rugby football, England defeated Ireland at Twickenham by 15 points to nil. Playing at Aberdeen, Scotland de-Ceated Wales in Soccer by 2 points to 1.

A meeting of the-Kangaroo Football
(Soccer) and Athletic Club was held at the Point Hotel on Wednesday night. The following officers were appointed:

vice-patron, Mr. Peters; president, Mr. Jenkins; vice-presidents. Messrs. Carter, Hetherington, Mackay, Raymond, Halek, Pearce, Mackenzie, Switzer, and Wheeler; club captain. C.
Dillon; treasurer, Mr, Edwards; secre-tary, Mr. Lyle; delegation to the Foot-ball Association, Messrs. - Mackenzie, Ireland, and Halek. The entrance fee for the football was fixed at 10s, but the fees and other matters relating to the athletic branch were postponed for a further meeting, when sub-committees from the various branches of sport will be appointed. As this is the first time Kangaroo Point has established an athletic club, a good deal of enthu siasm Is being shown by the sporting fraternity. A meeting of the Soccer section will be held next Thursday night at the same place.
